product description
The Brothers Karamazov is a novel by the Russian writer Fyodor Dostoevsky, generally considered the culmination of his work. Dostoevsky spent nearly two years writing The Brothers Karamazov, which was published in installments in the magazine "The Russian Messenger" and completed in November 1880. Dostoevsky intended it to be the first part of an epic titled The Life of a Great Sinner, but he died less than four months after its publication, in late January 1881, just weeks after the final installment appeared in "The Russian Messenger." The Brothers Karamazov holds a prominent place among Dostoevsky's works, despite being his last, and many consider it his best. Indeed, despite its considerable length, it is a monumental work, encompassing almost everything from father-son relationships to love, crime, faith and atheism, the machinations of women, and the tactics of lawyers and detectives. Since its publication, it has been lauded by thinkers worldwide. The world's leading figures, including Sigmund Freud, Albert Einstein, Martin Heidegger, and Benedict XVI, consider The Brothers Karamazov one of the pinnacles of world literature.
